In 2007, after a remarkable 40-year career in the financial services industry, Bob MacDonald (alongside two of his sons) created All Things Annuity; a centralized hub for individuals in need of sound financial advice and assistance with guaranteed retirement income. Bob began his career in 1965 as an agent for New England Mutual Life; he “retired” in 2002 as CEO of Allianz Life of North America.
Along the way, he built a successful sales agency for Jefferson-Pilot, served as chief operating office for State Mutual of America, president and CEO of ITT Life Insurance Corporation, and formed LifeUSA, which became one of the fastest growing, best-known and most successful companies of the 1990s. From a startup in 1987 to the time Allianz AG of Munich, Germany acquired LifeUSA in 1999, the company developed into a profitable, publicly-traded company with sales exceeding $1 billion, assets of more than $6 billion and over 80,000 agents contracted to represent the company.
Colin began his career in the financial service industry in 1999 as a Senior Sales Trainers at Allianz Life. During his time at Allianz, he worked with, trained, and gave presentations to thousands of financial planners on the importance of providing income to their clients. The importance of providing guaranteed income to clients has been the bedrock of his philosophy towards retirement planning, and was the inspiration for All Things Annuity.
Since its inception, Colin's mission at All Things Annuity has been to assemble a nationwide network of highly qualified financial planners who share his belief in the importance of providing clients with guaranteed income they can never out live. After several years in sales, he shifted his focus to his true passion; technology innovation and implementation. It was his belief that the financial industry was lacking in certain areas in regards to technology, particularly in the way clients receive information and support. He designed the All Things Annuity website as an open and transparent encyclopedia of annuities.
